FACULTY OF LAW
The objective of the degree course in Law offered by Universitą Carlo Cattaneo - LIUC is to provide a solid grounding in the form and substance of the law, coupled with an ability to grasp its economic implications and formulate economic ideas in legal terms, thereby preparing students to function competently within business firms, in professional practice, and in public institutions both in Italy and abroad.
To this end, graduates will possess:
§
a solid grasp of the principal subject areas of law, and in particular its historical-philosophical aspects, private law, public law, procedural law, criminal law, international law, institutional law, comparative law and community law.
§
sound understanding of the principal fields of knowledge pertaining to the economic, political and business spheres.
§
knowledge of information management and communication, also including the use of IT instruments.
As a result they will acquire:
§
comprehensive skills in the analysis and combination of legal statutes, as well as the ability to express in spoken or written form (with an awareness of their technical-legal, cultural, practical and value implications) the arguments and lines of reasoning needed to correctly formulate general and special legal questions relating to cases and precedents.
§
full understanding of the economic implications of legal institutions, and the ability to formulate economic ideas in legal terms, so as to operate productively within business firms, professional practices or public administrations in Italy and abroad;
§
full ability to draft legal documents (regulatory and/or contractual and/or procedural) that are clear, well argued, pertinent and effective for their intended purpose, also with the use of IT instruments.
§
skills in interpretation, case analysis, legal classification (relating cases to precedents), understanding, representation, evaluation and awareness needed to tackle the problems of interpretation and application of the law.
§
fundamental tools for their continuing professional development.
The Law degree is currently offered in three different specialisations:

International and Comparative Law

Criminal Law and criminology
FIRST CYCLE DEGREE IN LAW - Bachelor Level 180 ECTS
SECOND CYCLE DEGREE IN LAW - Master Level 120 ECTS
